Meet the founder / Ali Green

Hello, I’m Ali Green - founder of Alexandra House Studio, and freelance photographer and graphic designer, living in the heart of Truro, Cornwall.
I graduated in Cheltenham, from the University of Gloucestershire with a BA Hons degree in Editorial & Advertising Photography. This challenging course focused on establishing a thorough understanding of the photography industry, commercial creativity and producing inspiring images with real purpose. During my time at UOG, I was a keen fashion photographer which led to extensive study of essential skills such as styling and art direction as well as post-production processes such as photoshop and lightroom.
When returned to Cornwall, I remained passionate about becoming a freelance photographer, however, felt I should add more strings to my bow. I therefore pursued graphic design - an art that complimented my existing accomplishments of illustration and photography. It wasn't long until I found myself employment as a senior graphic designer within a company and then a creative agency.
After many years of working in the creative industry, I decided that being self-employed was the best way to pursue my passion for collaboration with sustainable and ethical businesses. With the experience I had attained, I was more than capable of being a freelance photographer, graphic designer and art director, and offer my expertise to good companies that put purpose and people before profit, and seek out sustainable solutions.
Since 2019, I have been working as a freelance creative in Cornwall. I have established a passion for food photography and provide my expertise to multiple food producers and chefs around Cornwall and the rest of the UK. As well as food photography, I photograph a number of different styles and subjects including:
I also continue to provide graphic design services in addition to creative consultation and art direction, which allows me to support new businesses by providing essential guidance and visual materials such as branding, Squarespace websites and more.
In a nutshell, I have a wonderful group of clients that I provide a vast variety of services for and outside of work, I enjoy eating out, climbing, hiking, kayaking and baking. I am an avid movie buff and love music! I struggle to sit idle and love to keep busy and keep the ball rolling.
